SCARF TITLE: “Outback Red-H”

PHOTOGRAPHY: April 1984, Northern Territory, Australia.
STORY: Travelling through Australia’s outback seems like an endless journey through dust and scrub lands. It is well known as the ‘Red Centre’. At dawn and dusk there is short beautiful interval of time when the scenery comes alive with shades of red. The sun light and shadows create patterns of many shapes and tones of red on the landscape, canyons and craggy cliffs. For this scarf design we took out the sky from the original photos and focused on the contours and the colour red.

The artwork for our silk scarf collection is re-living our photography in a fresh way. Using a variety of techniques our challenge is to create a captivating image, often from nature’s details, that looks beautiful as a scarf.
SILK HABOTAI SCARF: This is the classic silk fabric since nothing has changed in its production over the centuries. Soft, Smooth, strong, lightweight, Translucent, Vibrant Colours. It is weighted at 8mm in the silk weight scale.
