The Blackwood Timber for this tea light holder is from a Mt Dandenong property called Tall Trees Mt Dandenong. The Blackwood tree came down in the July 2021 Storm Event and was only recently harvested by Michael and turned into this amazing piece.
Blackwood is indigineous to the area and botanically known as Acacia melanoxylon, commonly known as the Australian blackwood, is an Acacia species native to south-eastern Australia. The species is also known as blackwood, hickory, mudgerabah, Tasmanian blackwood, or blackwood acacia.
